Royal lands, exciting events and "Limited Time Magic" make this a magical summer at Disney Parks. With a nod to Mike and Sulley, stars of the new Disney Pixar film "Monsters University", here's some of the fun in store during the "Monstrous Summer" at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
New Fantasyland: The largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom park celebrates its first summer season! The Magic Kingdom now features three majestic castles in its unique skyline. Experience the enchantment of Gaston's Tavern, Beast's Castle and Belle's French village from "Beauty and the Beast," --or go under the sea with "The Little Mermaid". "Storybook Circus" features a big top-full of fun with Dumbo, The Great Goofini and Pete's Silly Slideshow.
Test Track Presented by Chevrolet: Design your own concept "SimCar" on this re-imagined attraction. Then hop in, buckle up and take it to the road with hairpin turns, speedy straightaways and more. How did your design stack up after being road-tested?
Splitsville Luxury Lanes: Let the good times roll! Two levels of food, family fun, billiards and bowling combine with upscale dining inside an entertainment center like no other. This hip, retro-style bowling emporium is located in the Downtown Disney West Side area.
Limited Time Magic: Guests enjoy an extra dash of pixie dust each week in 2013. "Limited Time Magic" takes its inspiration from those special, but fleeting, moments when families spend time together shared experiences. Some experiences last a day, some last longer. For example, Independence Day will be red, white and blue as Disney Parks celebrates America with a 4th of July Fireworks Party-for an entire week. Guests can find out what awaits at disneyparks.com.
Star Wars Weekends: The power of the Force and the magic of Disney combine each Friday, Saturday and Sunday through June 9 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The annual fan-fest features Star Wars fun all throughout the theme park.
Disney Dining: Coming by summer's end: a re-imagined California Grill crowning Disney's Contemporary Resort. Guests will experience a beautiful new dining room, onstage kitchen and new dining choices - chef Brian Piasecki will keep the focus on creative, fresh, seasonal dishes and top-of-the-line sushi.
Coming Soon, at Sea!: The first ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, Disney Magic, will soon offer new adventures from stem to stern after a "reimagineering" transformation of the ship that takes place during dry dock Sept. 7-Oct. 10, 2013 in Cadiz, Spain. Guests will soon enjoy new spaces and reimagined areas. Exciting additions for the whole family will be found aboard the cruise ship that set the standard for oceangoing majesty and family fun.
